The route to our house is via Dover if crossing by boat or Folkstone if using the Channel Tunnel.
From Dover, our favorite carrier is Speedferries because they travel to Boulogne which is only half an hour away from where we live and they do some of the cheapest crossings.
If you use one of the other ferry companies, P&O and SeaFrance dock in Calais whilst Norfolk Line lands in Dunkerque.
Dunkerque is the furthest away, approximately 75 - 90 minutes drive and Calais is roughly 45 - 60 minutes.
If you use the tunnel you will arrive at Coquelles, about midway between Calais and Boulogne.

If arriving at Dunkerque, Calaise or Coquelles simply follow the signs to the A16 and then drive along it, past Citi Europe, in the direction of Boulogne. (From Dunkerque the signs will first say Calais, then carry straight on to Boulogne).
If arriving at Dunkerque, Calaise or Coquelles simply follow the signs to the A16 and then drive along it in the direction of Boulogne. (From Dunkerque the signs will first say Calais, then carry straight on to Boulogne).
Exit the A16 at junction 29, immediately before the Peage.
Follow the slip road down to the roundabout where you will see the signs to Montreuil and Abbeville.
Follow the the signs and pick up the "N1" in direction of Montreuil.
(If arriving in Boulogne, exit Speedferry terminal and follow dual carriage way to 2nd roundabout. Turn right, follow straight through commercial area to traffic lights. Get into left hand lane and follow to next roundabout where you will see Montreuil clearly marked).
As you leave Boulogne you will come to a roundabout. Stay to the left and take 2nd exit to Montreuil, (there is a right hand lane filter to Le Touquet).
Stay on the N1 straight through Hesdin l'Abbe and Samer.
After Samer the road starts to go up hill then gets steep and takes a sharp double bend, first to the left and then the right.
A little further on you will see a sign to Cormont on the right and a little further still is a sign on the left to Hucqueliers.
Start to slow down as the next small turning on the left is the D147 to Bernieulles and Beussent where you turn off.
Follow this road down the hill to Bernieulles where you can either go straight on or turn left, they both lead out onto same road.
(If you miss the D147 carry on half a mile or so and take the next on the left, again it will take you into Bernieulles. You then go straight across or turn right at Bernieulles).
The road ends at a T junction. Turn right to Inxent.
[bold]Approximately 1 mile along on the left you will come to a long laurel hedge about 2 metres tall. This borders our garden, Pull up on the left in front of the house, no. 257. You meet Jacqueline at no. 297 and can either walk or drive on approx 300 yards. She will come to the house with you, hand over & give you the keys.
