Set on a large plot, Mon Desir is a fermette/farmhouse built approx 1780 and although a holiday house it is also a real home.
Just outside Montreuil sur Mer & close to Le Touquet, it is a holiday farmhouse sleeping up to 13 people, (plus babies), with 6 bedrooms.
Mon Desir is within easy reach of Le Touquet, Boulogne, Devres & St Omer.
Just outside of the fortified town of Montreuil sur Mer are the main supermarkets where you can buy all necessities. Both LeClerc & Carrefour have petrol stations. All have good stocks of wine!
Our house is in the village of Inxent in the Vallee de la Course, a picturesque valley not far off the main N1 road, running roughly beween Montreuil sur Mer and Devres. It is part of the area of Les Sept Vallees, (The Seven Valleys).
We are roughly 25 minutes from Boulogne, 20 minutes from Le Touquet and 5 or 6 minutes from Montreuil sur Mer by car. St Omer & Citi Europe are each about a 35 minute drive. We also border onto the Picardy region around the Somme estuary where there are huge amounts of things to do and places to see - a travel brochure is a must to cover the area.

Recently modernised and extended, the new part of the house was built not to replicate the original but to retain the character of the old building.
It is complemented by a large secluded garden with patio & BBQ areas. The River Course runs along the bottom of the garden, (with a light fence in place to keep toddlers in check). The garden is split into two areas: a private grassed courtyard on one side of the house with the main garden to the rear.
Lounge
The lounge is large and has views over both the back garden and the grassed courtyard. Inside there is a wood burning stove, (great for those cold winter evenings!!), a dining table that can seat up to 12 people, 3 settees, a TV and DVD, MP3 compatible CD/stereo. There is an arch leading into the kitchen/diner
Kitchen/diner & laundry room
The kitchen/diner comfortably seats 6 people at the table. It is equipped with a range of pots, pans and cutlery plus electric cooker, hob, microwave, dish washer and fridge freezer. We also have a laundry room with washing machine & separate tumble dryer at the rear of the house.
Bedrooms & bathrooms
Used as a holiday house, there are 6 bedrooms. 3 with double beds, 1 with a bunk bed,(sleeps 2), 1 with 2 single beds and 1 with 3 single beds. There are 2 bathrooms with toilets, a shower room & a downstairs toilet.
Cots are not provided as we find that most people prefer to bring their own.
Gardens & exterior
Outside, the house has a cobblestone surround with a large garden to the rear running down to the river and a secluded grassed courtyard area within the two wings of the building. There is ample parking for 4 normal sized cars.
The rear garden has an unobtrusive light fence in open green wire mesh running along the river bank to prevent toddlers wandering too close. It is mainly laid to lawn with a few scattered trees and a small garden house in the bottom corner. Just outside the house overlooking the back garden down to the river is a patio area with a table and chairs.
In the courtyard area we have two more patios with tables, chairs and benches. There are BBQs available, although you will need to get charcoal for them.
Disabled access
There is Disabled access in as much as the ground floor has bedrooms, bathroom, toilet & shower, all with reasonably wide doors and has virtually even flooring throughout. The front door step is about 6 inches high.
