Set in large plot, Mon Desir is a fermette/farmhouse built around 1780 close to Le Touquet.
Recently modernised and extended, the new part was built not to replicate the original but to retain the character of the old building. It is complemented by a large secluded garden with patio & BBQ areas.
"Mon Desir" is both a holiday letting, near Le Touquet sleeping max 13 people, and a real home.
It has six bedrooms, three of which are doubles, one with en suite. Of the remaining three, one has bunk beds, one has two single beds and in the third there are three singles, one of which has a slide out fourth bed underneath. Altogether we have 2 bathrooms, a shower room and cloakroom.
Cots are not provided as we find that most people prefer to bring their own.
The lounge is large and has views over both the back garden and the grassed courtyard. Inside there is a wood burning stove, (great for those cold winter evenings!!), a dining table that can seat up to 12 people, 3 settees, a TV and DVD, MP3 compatible CD/stereo. There is an arch leading into the kitchen/diner which can comfortably seat 6 people at the table. It is equipped with a range of pots, pans and cutlery plus there is an electric cooker & hob, microwave, dish washer and fridge freezer. We also have a laundry room with washing machine & separate tumble dryer.
Outside, the house has a cobblestone surround with a large garden to the rear running down to the river and a secluded grassed courtyard area within the two wings of the building. There is ample parking for 4 normal sized cars.
The rear garden has an unobtrusive light fence in open green wire mesh running along the river bank to prevent toddlers wandering too close. It is mainly laid to lawn with a few scattered trees and a small garden house in the bottom corner. Just outside the house there is a small patio area with a table and chairs
In the courtyard area we have two patios with tables, chairs and benches. There are BBQs available, although you will need to get charcoal for them.
Mon Desir is within easy reach of Le Touquet,(20 min drive), St Omer & Citi Europe are about 35 minute drive & Boulogne is about 25 minutes away.
Just outside of Montreuil sur Mer are the main supermarkets where you can buy all necessities. Both LeClerc & Champion have petrol stations as well. All have good stocks of wine!
